Ali Alexander and his lawyer, Baron Coleman of Mongomery, are defendants in U.S. Capitol Police lawsuit against Trump and others over Jan. 6 riot

Ali Alexander

Ali Alexander, a right-wing extremist with ties to Alabama, organized the Stop the Steal rally that turned into an assault on the U.S. Capitol. Alexander now finds himself among defendants in a lawsuit brought by U.S. Capitol Police officers seeking damages for injuries sustained in the deadly Jan. 6 riot. Baron Coleman, Alexander's Montgomery-based attorney who incorporated Stop the Steal as an LLC in Alabama, also is named as a defendant.

Leading the list of defendants is former President Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President Inc., according to a report at Salon. In fact, Stop the Steal (c/0 George B. Coleman) and Alexander (a/k/a Ali Abdul Razaq Akbar, a/k/a Ali Abdul Akbar) are right below Trump and Trump for President in the lawsuits' list of defendants. The 71-page complaint was filed by Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a civil-rights organization founded in 1963 at the request of President John F. Kennedy; it is based in Washington, D.C. Also among the defendants is Roger J. Stone, a longtime Florida-based Trump supporter and GOP dirty trickster, who reportedly helped lead a cyber attack and stalking campaign against Legal Schnauzer via fraudulent Facebook accounts

Alexander reportedly has been in hiding since Jan. 6, but the lawsuit lists his address as 5125 Pinellas Avenue, Fort Worth, TX, 76244. It will be interesting to see if the Lawyers Committee manages to serve him, perhaps via the U.S. Marshals Service. Could the service process and the possible involvement of U.S. marshals increase the likelihood that Alexander will face criminal charges related to Jan. 6? We will be watching with interest.

Stone is not the only defendant in the Capitol Police lawsuit who has a history of threats and harassment against this blog and its publisher, yours truly. Alexander, along with his former colleagues in the National Bloggers Club (NBC), has made a number of threatening statements and actions against progressive voices in Alabama -- especially Legal Schnauzer and activist/whistleblower/attorney Dana Jill Simpson.

The NBC reportedly helped launch a smear campaign in 2018 against Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Alexander's ties to GOP money men, such as Robert Mercer and Foster Friess, apparently helped him rise in the right-wing media galaxy, despite his history of trolling for Gay Sex on Grindr and a substantial criminal record (the likely reason for his name change, from Ali Akbar to Ali Alexander).

Closer to home, Alexander has bragged about his ties to the Alabama legal world, perhaps through his friendship with Baron Coleman, who once practiced with Alabama State Bar official Tripp Vickers.

Simpson and I know what it's like to be the target of Alexander and his right-wing goons. Alexander once threatened  to sue me for reporting accurately and fairly about a letter  Simpson wrote to Obama re-election counsel Robert Bauer in 2012. My wife received notice of the lawsuit threat shortly after my "arrest for blogging" in October 2013. Was that a coincidence, considering that Alexander's NBC buddies were in a blogging frenzy when word broke of my incarceration. Does that mean they know who caused the unlawful loss of my freedom, the loss of our Birmingham home via wrongful foreclosure, and perhaps my wife's severely broken arm in 2015 at the hands of deputies in Missouri (where we now live)? Let's just say we haven't ruled out Alexander and NBC's knowledge of, and perhaps involvement with, any or all of those events.

Simpson has experienced all kinds of unsettling incidents related to her house, vehicle, and property -- some involving fire. She has stated publicly that she suspects Akbar and/or his colleagues' involvement in at least some of these evens. From a November 2018 LS post

Simpson's interactions with the right-wing crazies go back several years, to the beginnings of the Don Siegelman case:

The NBC, as we call them, came to my attention when they harassed and told false stories about Siegelman activists. The NBC is a vicious group. What is such a hoot is that is how I first learned about crazy Steve Bannon's bunch. I started getting a master's degree in philosophy and religion, and the nuts in the National Bloggers Club started following me around in D.C. and California. The idiots were making a film for Andrew Breitbart and were trying to falsely claim I was a ring leader in Anonymous, as they were friends of mine, and that I was dating a guy who they believed was in Anonymous. The dimwits offered me all kinds of things to say I was part of it, through him.

Simpson knows these creepy wingers can get both scary and personal. She also says they are behind -- at least in part -- some of the abuse (false arrest and imprisonment, theft of house) that has been directed at my wife, Carol, and me. . . . Says Simpson:

Even as late as 2013 they were threatening me and called my boyfriend (now husband) trying to advise him not to marry me, telling him I was going to jail. The GOP National Blogger bunch in 2014, due to me having a neck injury, worked with their Alabama State Bar buddy, Tripp Vickers, and his former law partner,  Baron Coleman and a federal judge to try to set me up -- when in all likelihood it was them who set my office yard on fire and burned up my car and my shed with all my files in it. They spent months trying to frame me with all kinds of things. They were not successful. I might add, in my opinion, they were responsible for what happened to Shuler as well -- as some of their members bragged about it at their Web sites and were working with Rob Riley who first used a #MeToo deal in the Doug Jones-Roy Moore race.

Alexander also has threatened legal action against Simpson. Consider this from one of his online comments:

Jill Simpson should lawyer up buddy. Tell her not to worry about coming to Texas. I can come to Alabama. I'll dine with the Governor and then spend the afternoon cashing in favors with Alabama lawyers.

This raises some questions that hit close to home: The governor at the time was Robert Bentley, who I helped bring down by breaking the story about his extramarital activities with senior aide Rebekah Caldwell Mason. And what kind of favors was Alexander cashing in with Alabama lawyers? Is this a reference to the Alabama State Bar? What implications might this have for Carol and me, given that Missouri deputies  shattered her arm during an unlawful eviction that occurred about the time I was breaking the Bentley story? We will ponder that question in a future post.

Meanwhile, we note that Alexander and Coleman have a history of making sport of others' legal misfortunes. Consider this repartee under the LS headline"Tweet suggests Ali Akbar and attorney Baron Coleman know who's behind my arrest and our foreclosure

You can read the first part of the Twitter conversation at the beginning of this post, and the second part is at the end.

Akbar starts the festivities by tweeting about Matt Osborne, the editor of Breitbart Unmasked, and me--with a reference to a $3.5-million default judgment against me in the (Jessica Garrison case). The default judgment, by law, is void and due to be overturned, and that process is ongoing.

Removing extraneous comments from a couple of other folks, here is the conversation between Akbar and Coleman:

Akbar: Matt Osborne sure helped Roger Shuler out. Hahaha. $3.5 M libel mishap. Idiots flock together.

Coleman: The last three year's of that guy's life is a fine example of what not to do.

Akbar: His whole existence.

Coleman: He's judgment-proof, has nothing. No reason to bother fighting it. $1 might as well be $10 million to him.

Now that they are targets of a lawsuit from the U.S. Capitol Police, one that could eventually have criminal implications, Alexander and Coleman might not find such matters so amusing.

Don't know this lawsuit will play out, but looks to me like Mr. Akbar and Mr. Coleman will be facing some pretty sympathetic plaintiffs, who suffered serious damages.

I've lost track of how many officers died during the riot, or shortly after. I wonder if their families are in the lawsuit and could receive compensation.

legalschnauzer said...

Good question, @10:06. The complaint is 71-pages long, and I'm still working my way through it. Hopefully, those families will be taken care of in a variety of ways -- pensions, benefits, lawsuits, etc.

I never dreamed something like Jan. 6 ever would happen in our country. That it did is tragic. Hope the feds hold the responsible people accountable.

Dana Jill Simpson has some serious and interesting thoughts on issues raised in today's post. From her Facebook page:

This is my response and opinion on Roger's article at Legal Schnauzer: I wish the Capitol Police much success in shutting down Ali Akbar Alexander and Baron Coleman's proud boys operation all across the South, as they are ring leaders and it is easy to prove with all the pictures of them with other ring leaders, plus the NSA has tapes of all their conversations so I have been told. There is no doubt Ali and Baron are dangerous men and were right in the middle of plotting the Capitol Insurrection on January 6th. So you know, I even got the copy of their corporation sent to me as a tip and helped make it public before their attack. Plus spent several weeks before their attack notifying folks of their plans to attack because as a reporter, I had numerous tips about their plans because I had been covering these knuckleheads for years.

Jill Simpson (continued)

As everyone in Alabama politics knows, I have seen the stories told about these two corrupt political operatives since they have done multiple acts of meaness to me and many others since I came forward in the Siegelman matter. Their bosses during their first attacks on me were Rove, and Grover Norquest, and I can prove it; they did not start in on me for Stone or Trump; they worked with Rove bunch. I should share as well when they did their meaness to me, I went to the FBI, and they were not helpful at all and seemed to protect them from the tricks they did for Rove, and I have wondered if they are part of the paid-assets program the FBI had with select proud boys -- kinda how should we put it, rats on the proud boys.

I know the current FBI Director (Christopher Wray) has long ties to the very corrupt Alabama Gang through his time helping with Russian American Chamber of Commerce at King Spalding firm in Atlanta that represented Putin's Gas Companies and ties to Oleg Deripaska, Russian American Chamber of Commerce that has ties to Rove and his buddies at the Chamber office in DC. I know from calls from folks with NSA that they listen in to Ali and Baron as I got two calls warning me of things being said about me, and they felt they had a duty to warn me. Plus about talks of them thinking of burning an Eagle Forum lady's house, which Roger and I did a story on after a tip from an NSA person calling to ask if I thought they burned my house/office in 2013 and had me run me off the road in 2016 by another proud boy? Which I said yes I believe they did and if they are talking about burning another lady's house, she should be worried.

All that said, my take on this is that Ali and his Lawyer Baron fooled Trump, Roger Stone and Alex Jones into thinking Ali worked with them. That is my opinion when really he set them up for Rove and the FBI bunch, who wanted rid of them for good to take back the Republican Party. Ali is a longtime Rove operative, and I know when Trump first started publicly running, (Ali) threw off on him, calling him racist as I put up the video at the time. Later on, after (Trump) got elected, Ali got close to Trump bunch, but I heard Karl sent him to do so through the chattering republican political class in our state, as I asked why Trump would have him around?

legalschnauzer said...

I know the day Ali and Baron's "stop the steal" bunch attacked the Capitol building Karl was at Amelia Island with 175 top Republicans watching his best buddy make a fool out of Trump with Ali's Goon squad of folks that included the QAnon Shaman in a beaver hat at Nancy's podium to make Trump bunch look stupid.(Rove's) friends in Alabama laughed. Ali got Trump good for Karl is what I heard. I heard before that event, Karl was going to be watching Ali's shenanigans and outed it for the press at time. It was going on to see reports done both out of NY and DC. Make no mistake, Karl was down at Amelia Island laughing his ass off from reports we got of what a good job Ali was doing fucking Trump and the teapot bunch up.

The elites were celebrating while drinking Mai Tais about taking back the Republican Party, all thanks to Ali and Baron's Stop the Steal corporation and idea. This deal for Ali in my belief was to return the Republican Party from Trump back to Rove bunch, and I got to say it was brilliantly executed to make Trump bunch look crazy as a loon. I believe what we saw on TV on Jan 6th was exactly what Rove and his two operatives. Ali and Baron, planned for Trump with their stop the steal operation it was never to help Trump but to make a fool out of him for Rove. We heard through Alabama Gang sources their stop the steal deal was going to return Rove and his FBI buddies back to being over the Republican Party. I believe that is why neither Ali nor Baron has ever been arrested for the January 6th Insurrection that they planned while creating the corporation to protect them from being sued, and we warned folks about it before it happened.

Yep we warned folks right here what was up. I might add Ali has also cast shade on a lot of Republican leaders since then, that are well known not to be Rove guys, putting the blame for the rally on (Ali) when he was the ring leader. I tell this not because I am a fan of Trump or of Stone, as it is well known I am a Bernie fan as all know and often out republican stories. But I tell this because I think it important to get the right person who was the ringleader of what we all saw on January 6th, and I think that was Karl Rove, Ali and Baron who set Trump's ass up for the Fall. I think what we saw was a circus planned and orchestrated by Rove's key, well-known operative, Ali Akbar Alexander and his lawyer Baron.

Jill Simpson (cont.)

I also want to mention that Roger Shuler, in his article, mentions how I first heard of Steve Bannon. So I want to clear that up. Back when Breitbart was hell bent on doing his movie about a group of DNC Operatives he felt was paid for by Soros who Breitbart wrongly dreamed up was Anonymous, including myself, he hired Steve Bannon to help with the filming as Steve was a longtime director of republican films like the one on Reagan. Over the years I have seen as folks know a lot of Bannon stories told about his Nation State pushes which I might add he openly admits. With that said I have over the years realized Bannon is basically an America First guy mostly, and I get that as even as a progressive I want US as first. I also have realized Bannon is not dangerous like Ali. I actually as republican operatives go see Bannon as a guy who helps the poor white rural middle class of his party and as a guy definitely not for the elites, which is to be commended as he gives a voice to people like him from the south where he grew up as you all known I am anti elites running our country. I think actually he is doing a good job giving the opposite opinion of the Biden bunch with his Populist Press bunch and is the guy in republican polar opposite to the Rove bunch, who hates their very voters. Bannon to me is the guy in the republican party who gives a voice to rural white Americans and I do not believe there is anything wrong with that. As y'all know I am neither a Biden nor Trump fan.

Jill Simpson (cont.)

I am a Bernie fan, a Progressive Populist from rural America. So I in no way want folks from this article to think I like either side much. As for Bannon I do not find any evidence he planned with Ali or Karl the crap that went down in DC. But I do find a lot of evidence that Ali played Alex Jones, Trump and Stone like fine tuned fiddles for the Rove bunch. It is my belief before all is said and done Ali will testify against Trump, Stone, Alex Jones, Mo Brooks, Paul Gosser, the Trump family members and possibly even attempt to drag Bannon in but my belief remains firm that Ali worked for Rove as does his lawyer as all their dirty tricks have always in Alabama been for Rove and his buddy Grover who started the National Blogger Club that is the start of the rapid growth of the proud boys and Ali and Baron's rise to power. I know due to my first starting tracking Ali and Baron in 2008 working for Rove bunch as I was tipped off by old religious right buddies Rove had assigned these two to pester me so I tracked their rise as well in the Rove bunch I figured you are assigned to me by Karl well I am going to keep an eye and report on you. I stand firm in my personal belief that neither has been arrested for their actions they did causing the ruckus at the Capitol Building due to being protected by the wing of Republicans they have always worked for which is the Rove Bunch and Republican FBI bunch who are in a power struggle for the Republican party with Trump, Bannon, Stone, and Jones bunch on the other side representing the non elites in the party.. I really believe Ali for Karl attempted to make a fool out of the Trump bunch and successfully did so. Which so far Ali has escaped punishment for leading the attack on the Capitol Police on January 6th. I say all this so the Capitol Police get who really is 100% at fault, and it is Ali and Coleman and the people who really planned the ridiculous riot that were all laughing at Amelia Island as Rove was celebrating taking the party back from Trump, Stone, and Bannon Bunch.

My opinion is my opinion and having covered this bunch ever since Rove hired Ali bunch to track me so I tracked them I can say not many have as much experience dealing with crazy Ali as I do. I know Ali has been already switching out three Congressman for Rove bunch as it is well known in Alabama as Ali has done Karl's dirty work on Mo Brooks.

Here is my summary of Jill Simpson's remarks:

1. Jill believes Alexander, and perhaps Rove, actually were working on behalf of Karl Rove and his associates to make Trump look bad by the riot and help take back control of the Reppublican Party.

2. Jill sees this as a battle between Rove/FBI elites vs. Trump/Bannon populists for the soul of the GOP -- with Alexander stirring up Trump supporters while actually working for Rove.

3. Jill says Alexander and Coleman are under FBI protection, and that is why they have not been arrested in association with Jan. 6.

legalschnauzer said...

This statement pretty well summarizes Jill's thoughts on what was going on with Jan. 6:

The elites were celebrating while drinking Mai Tais about taking back the Republican Party, all thanks to Ali and Baron's Stop the Steal corporation and idea. This deal for Ali in my belief was to return the Republican Party from Trump back to Rove bunch, and I got to say it was brilliantly executed to make Trump bunch look crazy as a loon. legalschnauzer said...

@12:55, that should read, "and perhaps Coleman." Sorry for the error.

legalschnauzer said...

Key point: Jill states that Ali Alexander probably has not been arrested because he's being protected, for some reason, by Rove and FBI elites.
