Right-wing extremist Ali Alexander is under investigation in Colorado following the filing of a police report alleging "Online Solicitation of a Minor"

Ali Alexander

Right-wing political figure Ali Alexander is being investigated in Colorado following the filing of a police report alleging he sought "d--k pics" from teen boys online. A spokesperson for the Johnstown, CO, Police Department could not confirm the nature of the alleged offense, but we reported yesterday that the allegation likely would be "Online Solicitation of a Minor," under Colorado law.

Jamie Barker, communications manager for the Johnstown Police Department, indicated charges have not yet been filed against Alexander, but that is standard for this stage of a case. Barker told Legal Schnauzer:

Your inquiry is related to an open case and JPD is currently in the process of conducting interviews. At this time, we are unable to provide additional information.

For your information, generally, when a police report is filed then an investigation is opened (as has happened in this case). The decision to file charges pending the investigation is the responsibility of the individual or of the District Attorney.

The official definition of the Online-Solicitation offense in Colorado is called "Internet Luring of a Child," and the crime is codified in section 18-3-306 of the Colorado Revised Statute

Clifton Black, a sex-crimes attorney in Colorado Springs, has written online about elements of the offense Alexander likely would face if charged and prosecuted. Writes Black:

The internet is a great place to meet new people. But using this technology to send sexually explicit messages and photos in an attempt to lure a child is illegal in Colorado. Law enforcement routinely monitors the internet, so you can easily get caught during a sophisticated sting operation.

Very little needs to happen for prosecutors to convict you of the offense. If you meet with a minor after sending explicit messages, even if you had no intention of engaging in sexual activity, you have likely broken the law and can face possible conviction.

Alexander, who has longtime ties to Alabama and prominent GOP figure Karl Rove, was the organizer of the Stop the Steal rally in Washington, D.C., that helped launch the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. In a Jan. 10, 2023, article at The Daily Dot, Alexander said he and his followers could have destroyed the Capitol. From the article, under the headline "Ali Alexander returns to Twitter, boasts he could have destroyed the Capitol on Jan. 6 if he wanted to":

Far-right influencer Ali Alexander says he could have destroyed the U.S. Capitol if he had chosen to on Jan. 6 in remarks made on his newly reinstated Twitter account.

Alexander, who claims his account was unbanned by Twitter owner Elon Musk this week after originally being removed following the 2021 Capitol riot, made the peculiar comment in response to criticisms from other Twitter users.

“If I desired violence on January 6th, which I didn’t, I would’ve planned for it and I’m a damn good planner,” Alexander said. “There wouldn’t have been a Cap left.”

Although Alexander was subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 Committee in late 2021, charges were never brought against him. Alexander spearheaded the “Stop the Steal” movement aimed at keeping Trump in power following his loss to then-presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Prior to the Capitol riot, Alexander appeared to suggest during numerous political rallies that violence could be used if Biden’s victory was certified.

At one such rally on Dec. 19, 2020, in Arizona, Alexander stated that he and his fellow protesters would do whatever was necessary to keep Trump in the White House.

“We’re going to convince them to not certify the vote on Jan. 6 by marching hundreds of thousands, if not millions of patriots, to sit their butts in D.C. and close that city down, right?” Alexander said. “And if we have to explore options after that…”

The evening prior to the failed insurrection, Alexander was also filmed chanting “Victory or Death” to a large crowd in Washington, D.C.

Every time we hear about Trump supporters, we find them plumbing the depths of depravity, each exceeding their predecessor.

Good point, Brian. Ali Alexander has been a depraved individual for a long time, complete with criminal record. That he is being investigated in this case should not come as a surprise to anyone.

Still trying to figure out how Alexander was not charged in Jan. 6 case. That was a major lapse on somebody's part, DOJ, Congress, somebody. It's hard to imagine a more clear case of incitement

People are growing tired of One Party State operatives in both political parties. Consider that Trump was, in my opinion, probably set up by a pro-Rove faction via Alexander’s shenanigans. Also consider that Democrat leaders are not who they claim/appear to be & have cut deals with Rove so that One Party State bad actors in both parties get away. Look at how Greg Craig got appointed during the Obama Administration & Jill Simpson’s testimony was killed much like Anita Hill’s was during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings. The key individual in both hearings was Joe Biden. Democrats are not who they appear to be. Back room deals are repeatedly reached between both parties to silence whistleblowers. Meanwhile, party leaders & rising stars are never charged & usually get confirmed. How many Alabama judges & prosecutors engaging in bad behavior have you repeatedly written lengthy complaints about on this blog, only to see them elevated to the Appellate Courts, Court of the Judiciary, Federal Courts & also the Bar Commission; promotions where they silence their critics & protect their allies? It’s some real Henry VIII, Star Chamber & Spanish Inquisition shit Roger. And Americans think they don’t have a nobility or kings. A Bush or a Clinton was at least Secretary of State from 1980 to 2017 & CIA Director & US Senator on the most powerful committees for decades before that. We have owners & you’re not bowing before your Kings, you piss ant. And they hold meetings in Montgomery and talk about us like that too, according to death bed confessions from Steven Noles & others. We are their piss ants.
