Christopher Shane Rushing, the man arrested with Tuscaloosa lawyer for meth trafficking, has a history of arrests on similar charges, in multiple states

Christopher Shane Rushing,
in 2006 Georgia mugshot
The man who was arrested with Tuscaloosa lawyer John Fisher Jr. on meth-trafficking charges has been arrested at least twice before on similar charges. He also has at least one other arrest, for theft.

Public records and news accounts indicate Christopher Shane Rushing is no stranger to the criminal justice system, although we have not yet been able to compile a complete record on him.

On February 9, 2006, Rushing was arrested in Douglas County, Georgia, on two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine, and three counts of possession of a firearm during a crime. Bail was set at $100,000.

Just seven months later, on August 11, 2006, Rushing was arrested in Tuscaloosa and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $20,000.

On February 5, 2008, Rushing was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree theft in Tuscaloosa. Bail was set at $10,000.

In all three instances, we have not yet been able to determine the disposition of the case. In the last two cases, Rushing's address was listed as the 13800 block of Chism Road in Northport.

An entry at mugshotsnow.com, shows Rushing being arrested in Douglas County, Georgia, on April 8, 2009, but it does not list an offense. Another item on the Web suggests Rushing was arrested in Douglas County, Georgia, in 2013, but we do not yet have details. We also have seen an item that indicates Rushing was arrested for a serious traffic-related offense, but for now, the details on that are sketchy.

Much still is not known about Rushing's criminal history, but it appears he has been arrested at least five times in roughly the past 10 years.

Has Rushing been convicted and incarcerated in any of these cases? That remains unclear, but it appears that he never has spent much time behind bars for any of them.

A few questions come to mind? Why was attorney Fisher hanging around with a guy like this? Was Rushing a client or was he something else -- like a business associate in a "business" that is not authorized by law?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Is this guy somebody's huckleberry, or is catch and release a plan?

Fisher must hang out with a classy crowd.

Details remain sketchy on Fisher arrest, and I'm not certain what form the meth was in (solid, liquid, etc.) Liquid meth appears to be a popular way to make the drug now, and here is info about that from an article at Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"Meth is liquefied for easier transport, according to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration. One pound of liquid meth has a street value of about $300,000 once it’s re-crystallized, according to information cited by Austin, Texas, police."

One pound of liquid meth equals $300,000? Wow, you can see why this might be an attractive business venture. You will note the following article involves a bust in Douglas County, Georgia, which seems to be a popular spot for Mr. Rushing.

What is it with Douglas Co, Georgia? That's home to Douglasville? Does Rushing live in Douglasville or Tuscaloosa?

legalschnauzer said...

Good question, @12:29. Best I can tell, Rushing has lived mostly in Northport/Tuscaloosa. But he has a habit of getting arrested in Douglas Co., GA. I'm guessing Douglasville area has a serious problem with meth. Maybe it's a transportation hub for some reason?

Here is URL to article about 11 people being arrested for meth in Douglasville car lot:

Anonymous posted this yesterday in part: [[The game works this way, you get busted or more to the point set up by a friend, then law enforcement will say unless you what to spend the next forty years in jail, you need to set up two others for a bust. Now if you can set up somebody that is somebody in the community well big boy, you have hit the lotto. That in a nut shell is a normal day in the war on drugs. The tax payers have paid a high price for this and thousands of good people have had their lives destroy by this process.]]

It makes me wonder if anon hit on something in the case of Rushing. It's clear he has an arrest record, so perhaps Law Enf needed help catching a bigger fish (maybe fish we don't know about yet)

The Douglas,GA angle is interesting. It's quite close to Atlanta, and Rushing apparently went back even after being arrested there. (Fisher grew up in Columbus, GA, right?)

Anonymous said...

Is my math correct here? If you have about 3.5 pounds of liquified meth, you can make $1 million from selling it? Geez, no wonder people go into this business.

legalschnauzer said...

I think your math is correct, @12:56, although I'm hardly a math expert. In conjunction with your point, I find it interesting that Fisher's Facebook page, which contained photos of his many well-connected conservative friends, disappeared almost immediately after I noted their presence at his site.

Seems folks want to be associated with John Fisher, lawyer, but not so much with John Fisher, alleged meth trafficker.

Question: How much does it cost to make $1 million worth of meth? I'm guessing the margins (as they say on "Shark Tank") are pretty attractive.

Very interesting point, SC. Maybe the bail bondsman knew Rushing was a snitch for task force, and that's why he was suspicious.

Got a note from reader, saying there is a bail bonds place at 1604 Greensboro Ave. in Tuscaloosa. Appears to be Bail Bonds Express:

Some one might want to check Rushings connections to motorcycle gangs and drug dealing. its big business with some motorcycle gangs. The gangs work not just nationally but internationally.

how the lawyer got mixed up in it? Might have needed the money. Might have wanted the rush. Might have been set up by Rushings. the lawyer might have "assisted" in money laundering. Meth has big profits and something has to be done with it.

Sometimes the "ingredients" for meth are imported from China, so if towns are a hub for transport, that is why he might be in a specific town at specific times.

If you're a criminal some times its best to keep your business away from your home.

It is interesting his bail has been set so high and keeps at it. There may be some sort of organization to go with this. Its more like a catch and release program.

The war on drugs is so dead and yesterday. If police departments are still "working" on that, they are usually trying to increase their "profits/budgets" or taking the "proceeds of crime". it may explain why the lawyer might have been targeted. In some police departments they seize everything and keep it. its too hard for people to get back what they owned and sometimes the police seize things they really aren't entitled to.

For all we know the police might have been "unhappy" with the lawyer. So if a lot of his assets were suddenly seized or frozen a whole different game is being played.

Mr. Rushing, in that mugshot, is a scary looking dude. Not sure I would want to break bread with him.

legalschnauzer said...

Good points, e.a.f. I suspect this story is uglier under the surface than most of us can imagine.

legalschnauzer said...

You gave me a thought, e.a.f. What if Fisher failed to be a good little boy, and pissed off someone in the legal/judicial establishment -- and they decided to set him up, as payback. Maybe DA wanted a Fisher client to accept a plea deal, and the client refused, and Fisher actually tried to defend client. The system is built to a great degree on lawyers screwing their own clients. What if Fisher got in trouble because he refused to sell out a client?

S C said...

At the end of the day, the charges will tell the story, right? They're both out of jail- bonded out - So...If the charges get dropped against one or both, that's a clue in itself. If one or both get indicted, that's a different story. If more POI's - like the parking lot women- get arrested/charge/indicted, that's a whole other story, too. If the bail bondsman knew Fisher and/or Rushing, that's the evening news....

Anonymous said...

He should have never rolled on his boy when he was pulled over in Douglasville,Ga head back to T Town. His boy did the time for Rushings shit (years) cause Rushings family had $ he walked away. KARMA is a bitch Shane and she is your shadow.

legalschnauzer said...

Interesting, @11:09. Can you share who Rushing rolled on? I've wondered why Douglasville has seemed to be such a "hot spot" for him.

Anonymous said...

Please u dont know this man at all. So do better research b4 u publish this crap because yes he did his time for his crime.... im sure there are several skelotons n ur closet just hasnt been pulled out... thank u

Anonymous said...

Shane DID NOT ROLL ON HIS BOY... i am very close friends with them both... shane done 4 1/2 yrs n georgia now his boy also did 2 but the same amount of time if he wouldnt have had prior charges for attempted murder. Thats why he did longer time. So if u gonna tell somethimg tell it all and the truth.... and when rhe real story prevails on this the truth on shane will b free. Hes a good man . He dont sell meth. He is an addict with a problem.. so quick to judge and cast stones.. instead of offering help or what happened to innocent til proven guilty? And have any of yall stopped to think about his kids? I mean really? Have a little respect for them....

@11:49 -- Is there something inaccurate in the story?

Anonymous said...

To friends of Shane: i feel sorry for him because he's an addict, but he served time for meth trafficking and then did it again after that.
The person he may or may not have rolled over on was in prison for attempted murder, too.
You can see where folks don't view these as good things, but you said he's a good guy and has a family and so, i'm wondering what went down?
Was he set up?

Anonymous said...

I have known Shane and his family all my life and they are good people. Shane is an addict and will tell you so himself. He works everyday God sends for his family. It's very clear to me that y'all done have the entire story. Everyone one of us has a past and have done things were not proud of. The Bible says we're not to judge one another. Whatever Shane has done is his business and I'm sure if anyone got hurt intentional, he's sorry. He's not a mean person at all and yes he would give you the shirt off his back. He also would be that person to stop and help a complete stranger broke down on the side of the road. Maybe people like you that put addicts should focus more on child molesters, rapists and the ones that abuse the elder.

Anonymous said...

If you have never had or known anyone who has had an addiction to meth or any drugs you will never understand the reason some continues to fall back to their same habits even after being arrested multiple times. It's the only thing they know. Even with family addiction over power it all. Maybe one day he will find purpose in his life. But today it happened let them both Deal with the consocoinces of their actions. Stop trying to dig up someone's past it does help anyone.

How could Shane have done 4.5 years in GA if there hasn't been a 4 yr span in between his charges? If you know both of them then you'd know the one he got busted with in GA feels very strongly that Shane did in fact snitch on him.

Anonymous said...

A lot of bad decisions from what I see

Anonymous said...

Shane's Daddy has thick pockets! That's why he hasn't don't time!!

Anonymous said...

Christopher Shane rushing has a daddy with deep pockets is why he is out and serves hardly no time when u are the owner of a concrete business unlimited funds to get him off but why keep getting him off when he keeps doing the same thing this guy had it made he didn't have to sell or make meth but I guess it's just greed or knowing his daddy will get him out everytime guess he don't have to stop.they have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars keep him out of jail.

Anonymous said...

Sir if you had any concept of how it work when your behind bars every time you go to court and come back u r updated and processed in the computer again not sure if that's what going on with the multiple arrest on the same charge in GA. but I went all through school with Shane and live near him my brother is close to Shane we know he did time in ga. It's a fact.

Anonymous said...

This blog is not about judging, throwing shade, or casting stones. It's about what are the facts and why he didn't spend much time behind bars for his crime while others with the same offense have 50+ years. He apparently didn't do the time that some people have said. Sadly.... money does have a lot to do with how much time you spend, how much you talk, how much info you give to the cops/feds/narcs. There are people saying not to judge, he is a good person ect. He has kids.... Where was the respect for their kids and family when they got busted? They chose drugs over all others... They were addicts, They made bad decisions and THEY BOTH GOT BUSTED. The guy he got busted with has kids as well. They both would give his shirt off their backs to and give their last to people in need. Their character is not being questioned. Their relationship with God is not being questioned. Priests and Preachers molest children in churches.... THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS BLOG IS ABOUT. The question that has not been answered is why he never did the time behind bars? How was he able to be a free man? Why did the guy he was busted with in GA on 2/9/2006 do 10 straight years on a 15 year sentence. TO WHOEVER KNOWS THEM REALLY WELL..... YOU WOULD KNOW THAT THE GUY HE WAS BUSTED WITH ON 2/9/2006 DID NOT DO 2 YEARS BUT INFACT DID 10 STRAIGHT YEARS.... Shane was booked, charged and bonded out.... walked away. Shane did not go to prison in GA. Inmates can look up people to see if they are within the same prison. They can find out a lot. The guy he was busted with on 2/9/2006 did not post bail due to having a pending attempted murder charge.... in Alabama, However, The guy with him on 2/9/2006 was sentenced to 15 years alone with just the charges they received on 2/9/2006 not with pending charges in Alabama. So with just the charges on 2/9/2006, atleast 10 years would have been served. Shane was booked again on 8/11/2006. 6 MONTHS LATER in Alabama. (Shane wasn't in prison in Douglas County Georgia) 2 years later, theft.... on 4/8/2009 Shane was booked again in Douglas, GA. So when was time served for just "ONE" of the cases Shane was charged with??? Is it because money was paid? the 2006 Georgia law code (What they were charged with), States that the charges are not reducible. So then I guess yes....the truth shall set you free.... the snitching truth to feds shall set you free. Money paid to attorneys shall set you free, dirty money shall set you free, twisted systems shall set you free and setting people up shall also set you free. Why wasn't the other guy he was busted with set free? The guy he was busted with posted bail on an attempted murder charge.... But didn't when was busted with Shane with the same exact charges, only 1 posted bail and the other walked away... later to be busted multiple times and now busted with a district attorney, posted bail and is in a rehab??? There's a lot of unanswered ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Questions a lot of people would like to be answered. People have done time behind this guy... and they want to know.

WHAT IS THE DATE OF HIS INCARCERATION???

S C said...

@12:22 p.m. I think i followed your thinking. Your comments about the guy that Shane was busted with in GA getting released is a valid question & weird, regardless of his family's wealth.

Do you think the GA arrest (Shane & your friend) was a set-up like the one a couple of weeks ago in AL?
The whole course of recent events regarding the bail bondsman calling the narcotics director & then someone in Fisher's office & then Fisher himself showing up at the bonds office to collect the backpack & handing it off to Fisher with a mystery woman present is very confusing.

I have no doubt that all three men have families and friends who love them, but meth is a very bad drug-destroying families, creating addicts, resulting in burglaries & murders of innocents, scarring children - especially those taken by DHS when their homes were too toxic to remove so much as a stuffed animal to comfort them. Meth is bad, much scarier than other illegal narcotics

Dates for what? Rushing's incarceration?

Somebody posted on a community facebook page that Rushing went to prison in GA & then got transferred a couple years later to AL (which is supposedly unusual & somebody arranged it, but i have no idea about that). The online post went on to say that the man whom Rushing was arrested with spent his sentence in GA & did not receive a transfer to AL

If you know him, then you have to know who I am. You know nothing about my family , my brother , when and where he was incarcerated, or how much money my family has. Don't comment on something you know nothing about.... Addiction... Until someone you love has gone thru it. I pray that you never do, but when you do, you will understand and look at life a whole different way.

Nah , why did the bail bondsman have the backpack and give it to thr attorney . it should have been turned over to the law that would brought in a Hazmat team to dispose of the product .
From experience . The law give it to the bondsman . The law broke the law . No matter who what or why that was distribution by the law in which is against the law . The law can not provide the product to bust you with because it is unlawful distribution no matter what . Then the bondsman distributed it second hand .
That case fell into a catagory that the law and the bondsman were going to be prosecuted for distribution .
