Legal Schnauzer Reaches Another Blogging Milestone By Passing 2 Million Page Views

Our blog recently passed 2 million page views, and that makes us pretty proud of the attention we've brought to a critically important subject--the corruption that permeates our "justice" system.

The system is so broken that even a right-wing news organization like al.com now recognizes it--roughly eight years after we started reporting on the issue.

According to the primary statistics service we use, our official page-view number is at almost 2.24 million, and our number of unique visitors is at almost 1.57 million.

I'm sure there are thousands of blogs with audiences that dwarf ours. Heck, some porn Web sites probably get that many page views in just a few days. But for a blog about a complex, unsexy topic, I would say our numbers are pretty good. This seems like a good time for a big thank you to the many readers who have made us a part of their regular reading habits.

I didn't start keeping track of our traffic for the first four to six months of the blog's existence, so our actual readership numbers are higher than those shown. A second stat service we use has our page views at almost 2.8 million, so maybe I should go with that one. I'm really not sure which is more accurate--but I'm thankful for the numbers, either way.

It's nice to be able to report that in spite of serious obstacles in the past year--including a stint in jail for, get this, practicing journalism--our readership continues to be on the rise. It took us roughly four years to reach one-million page views. The second million came in less than three years.

The blog is now almost 8 years old, and I didn't intend for it to last nearly this long. I thought it might be a side project to pursue for maybe six months to a year. Little did I know just how vast is corruption in U.S. courts, both at the state and federal level, in Alabama and beyond.

I like to think we have made a difference in the fight for justice on U.S. soil. We definitely have drawn attention to serious problems. It's pleasing to know that so many readers have joined us along the way.

Congrats. You've earned a nice audience with reporting we can't get anywhere else.

Our boy cat has a kitty pron site that he claims brings in millions of dollars in revenue.

He also claims to be particularly well endowed, exceeding industry standards.

What's that URL on the kitty pron site?

I don't know whether to take this as good news or bad news. On one hand, I'm pleased to see your blog has a good-sized audience. But I wish we had no need for a blog like this.

Congrats. I try not to miss a blog. Keep up the great reporting.

I hear you, @9:41. My preference definitely would be to live in a society with a functioning justice system, where a guy like me never had any reason to think about starting a blog like this. I would take justice over blogging every day of the week.

Thank you for all the work you do. I found your blog when looking for information about corruption in politics. I was interested in it because I was concerned about corruption in my province, British Columbia, Canada. I typed in Coal, gambling, corruption and up popped your blog. It has taught me a lot.

By reading this blog I got a good idea what road British Columbia is headed down. It wasn't pretty. What we do have in B.C. are a number of bloggers who do write about corruption in B.C. politics.

One of the top bloggers in B.C. carries your blog name in a column of recommended blogs, Pacific Gazetter. He was interested in gambling. Our provincial (state) government has legalized gambling and its a growing industry. First Nations have not gotten into the business, but large American corporations have.

Your reach is way beyond the state of Alabama. You make a difference. Thank you for all you do, on both sides of the border.

Made my day! We at Choctaw are just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Are you talking about the FBI? Keep hearing rumors along those lines over here, but haven't been able to nail it down.

Congratulations on your popularity and I wish you continued success. There are some of us who seek the truth and enjoy your opinion and speculation. I also enjoy our First Amendment.

Justice is for the select few who speak the language and have money.

SCOTUS only speaks business, and so does the district court: where the businesses run for protection.

Only a jury can insulate against the despotic rule of the corrupt judges or removal by the electorate.

Reuters has an excellent article, "The Echo Chamber," that details how 66 lawyers--the majority Caucasian males--practice before the US Supreme Court.

I'm very concerned about my country. I contact Congress to offer constructive criticism but I do not have the money to ever be taken seriously.

Private prisons, civil contempt injunctions, absolute immunity, and everything else that is maliciously disguised as in our best interests because corporations are masquerading as people.

I hope that you find competent counsel because you and your wife are victims and deserve the utmost retribution and other damages.

Have you tried The National Center for Victims of Crime?

This is because news papers are dead.
al.com is about dead. the people writing for them that are not columnists are not good journalists. Journalists are a dying breed. What we have now is fluff. You have to read blogs to find out what is really going on because the newspapers and media organizations are bought and paid for and biased. God bless you Roger Shuler. I hope a jury awards you millions one day and that you and your wife can live comfortably and you can loft crap bombs at the State of Alabama in your golden years on their dime!

Best . . . comment . . . ever . . ., @9:21. You made me LOL.

BTW, how does one loft crap bombs? It sounds like fun.

Mrs. Schnauzer also loves your comment and invites you to join us in lofting crap bombs during our golden years--on the State of Alabama's dime.

Congratulations!!! Great job(s) of investigative reporting. Was thinking of you and Mrs. Schnauzer during the recent AKC Championships.

You've done the hardest but most constructive thing which is to keep your sense of humor. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
