You can be forgiven if you watched the Department of Justice’s announcement yesterday of a $1.92 billion settlement with HSBC with a sense of disappointment--and déjà vu. The event checked all the boxes in a theatrical routine that has become all too familiar.

.. Descriptions of breathtaking misconduct involving the facilitation of massive drug trafficking and transactions with rogue terror-sponsoring nations? Check.

.. Broad boasts about the "historic" nature of the settlement that will certainly end the type of criminal misconduct alleged? Check.

.. Mea culpas from the offending institution with promises that it has really learned its lesson this time and will never ever engage in dastardly conduct again? Yep, that too. continued at

The New Republic

http://www.tnr.com/blog/plank/111041/too-big-jail-our-banking-systems-latest-disgrace#Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3669412675139526125.post-74651535124652181152012-12-13T11:20:47.574-06:002012-12-13T11:20:47.574-06:00Bradley Arant are A21 soldiers. Bill Gates is an agenda 21 backer along with the bipolar psycho Ted Turner and the infamous Soros. Not only do they defend the criminals, they are in on the crimes.

AL legislature banned Agenda 21 but the bill that was passed was to protect the state from liability. If AL is serious about protecting its citizens, they need to go back to the drawing table and include NGO's and nonprofits in this bill making it illegal for them to commit atrocities on AL citizens as well! Unless they do so, the bill is bogus!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3669412675139526125.post-83869187222231279452012-12-12T09:57:32.715-06:002012-12-12T09:57:32.715-06:00A good HuffPo piece on the HSBC scandal. But you wonder how many of these firms got paid with what amounts to drug money. Seems some kind of forfeiture procedure would address such situations.legalschnauzerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09619089628125964154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3669412675139526125.post-25426594366838297662012-12-11T20:33:21.210-06:002012-12-11T20:33:21.210-06:00Lets see here. O.K. it seems one firm seems to realllllly like it & you have to wonder how much they are paid to do this kind of work.

Now if the drug money was "dirty" & the banks laundered the "dirty money" & made a profit off it, it was "dirty profits". If this "dirty profit money" was used to pay these lawyers, then the money they were paid, was "dirty" & thus should be proceeds of crime. I guess the law could take the money from the lawyers unless the lawyers can prove it isn't "dirty money". Oh, right this is in Alabama & nothing is dirty there, just good ole boys trying to make a living so they can keep the current wife in style. yes, they are just people trying to get by.e.a.f.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3669412675139526125.post-55283701987159707752012-12-11T16:42:34.867-06:002012-12-11T16:42:34.867-06:00Bradley Arant--always advancing the cause of justi...Bradley Arant--always advancing the cause of justice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3669412675139526125.post-79793283653273223882012-12-11T15:54:06.940-06:002012-12-11T15:54:06.940-06:00How many lawyers looked the other way when the HSB...How many lawyers looked the other way when the HSBC scandal was going on?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3669412675139526125.post-46618572846039513332012-12-11T15:51:49.202-06:002012-12-11T15:51:49.202-06:00Oh the men and women of Bradley Arant, once again ...Oh the men and women of Bradley Arant, once again involved in crime.
